Consumer vs. Producer

In today's society, it is hard to contain any media to those who purchased it and the people who produced it. With such media sharing websites as YouTube, Facebook, etc., it is nearly impossible to ensure that the creator of content will always be credited appropriately for their work. If I could make up laws regarding this, there would be a very clear line between what sharing is and is not allowed. If someone wants to share other people's files with personal friends, it should be allowed. Eg. Sharing music or movies with your cousin, friend, parent etc. If they intend on profiting from sharing files, they should not be allowed to do it. Mass sharing, such as in torrents, should also be disallowed. If these are allowed, which currently they are not, then creators of media would lose sales of their arts.
